Origami Fox
Turn a diamond into a broad fox face with two pointed ears.
A short activity students can follow one fold at a time.
Use Origami Pico for a teacher demonstration, an individual activity or a pair sharing one device. The 3D guide shows how the paper moves, and written instructions let students pause and read the next step. The interface is available in English and Japanese.
Try a beginner activityThis is a suggested classroom plan. Allow more time for younger learners or a first attempt.
Preview the fox or sailboat before class. Use a device with a browser and an internet connection to open the app. Choose a free basic paper; collectible papers and store purchases are optional.
Demonstrate the first fold. Ask students to point out the moving corner and the crease, then describe where that corner will finish.
Students follow the 3D prompts at their own pace. In pairs, one learner reads the instruction and the other makes the fold. Swap roles. Use undo when a step needs another look.
Rotate the finished model. Ask which fold changed the shape most, which instruction was hardest to explain and what they would tell someone trying it for the first time.
Turn a diamond into a broad fox face with two pointed ears.
Fold a traditional sailboat with two open sails and a neat little hull.
A center crease, a pointed nose, a folded body, and two real wings.
The on-screen activity needs no physical materials. To follow up with real paper, open the original folding reference linked from each lesson and prepare paper suited to that pattern. The app uses some adaptations, so check the physical pattern before teaching it.
Try the activity on classroom devices beforehand. Sound and touch feedback can be turned off in Settings. Basic papers are free and unlimited; the app also has an optional store, collecting features and rewarded videos. Choose the basic papers for a lesson without purchases or ad rewards.
